X-rays are diffracted by gratings as every electro-magnetic wave. As the wavelength of X-rays is in the nanometre range, the grating constants have to be in the same range (e.g. in crystals) to achieve large diffraction angles. Man-made gratings with much larger grating constants can influence the direction of X-rays sufficiently to be used in X-ray optics as well.
