X-ray optics are used in many applications: some are introduced here.

Shortly after the discovery of X-rays W. C. Roentgen took an X-ray image of a colleagues hand (fig. 1). Since then, different types medical X-ray examination devices have been developed and largely improved. Today medical X-ray imaging is only one field of application, others are luggage safety checks at airports, material science etc.
